Some hints enabling teachers to reflect upon the quality of their lessons

Abstract
Being curriculum expert at the Netherlands institute for curriculum development I was for many years involved in science innovation projects. It resulted in an enormous amount of interesting and useful materials for science education. Among these are learning materials, didactic information, assessment considerations, curriculum documents, tests and checklists that have been presented and used in many Conferences, workshops, and lectures in many countries. This article offers a selection of four successful activities focusing upon teaching style. Be prepared: just reading this article is rather useless. The real benefit comes by using it and particularly so for the checklists included in this article. So the strong advice is to fill out the checklists and above all, compare your checklist scores with those of colleagues and discuss the differences
