Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
GP Globalize Research Journal of Chemistry (ISSN Print 2581 5911)is a peer-reviewed biannual journal published in English. All parties involved in the publishing of the journal have to abide by certain standards of ethical behaviour. The ethics statement of the journal is broadly based on the guidelines laid down by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors. The duties of the parties concerned ie authors,reviewers,editors and publisher are given below:
Duties of Authors
Originality of work
Authors should report their original research and should present an accurate account of the work done with sufficient details so that the work can be reproduced.
Plagiarism
Authors should acknowledge and cite the work/data of others if used in their research. GP Globalize Research Journal of Chemistry follows a zero tolerance to plagiarism policy. The editorial board and reviewers of the journal are committed to avoid plagiarism and to ensure that only original research work is published.Plagiarism will be checked by peer review in which the reviewer’s identity will not be revealed to the author/s and by plagiarism prevention tools.
Multiple Submissions
It is unethical to submit the findings of a study to more than one journal at a time.If authors wish to submit their paper to another journal while it is under consideration of this journal,they must inform the editors of this journal about withdrawal of the paper from further consideration.Thereafter, the paper may be submitted to the second journal.
Reorganizing or reformatting of a paper to produce several publications is not to be done.
Authorship
Authorship is limited to those who have contributed significantly to the study.The corresponding author should ensure that all coauthors are included in the author list of the paper and that they have seen the final version before submission for publication.
Duties of Reviewers
Review
Reviewers are expected to review papers, give comments and constructive suggestions for improvement .Thus,they assist the editor in deciding the suitability of papers for publication in the journal.Review of manuscripts should be done objectively.Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.Any similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published work must be brought to the notice of the Editor.
Confidentiality
Any information in the manuscript available to the reviewer is confidential and the reviewer should not use such information for one’s own advantage. Reviewers should not agree to evaluate manuscripts in which they have conflict of interest.
Duties of the Editors
Manuscripts should be evaluated only for their intellectual content and suitability for publication in the journal.
Confidentiality
The Editor and editorial board members must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone except the corresponding author, reviewers and the publisher.
Conflict of Interest
Editors will recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest. In such cases, they will ask any other member of the editorial board to handle the manuscript. Unpublished material disclosed in a manuscript must not be used in the Editor’s own research without the permission of the concerned author/s.
Publication decisions
The Editor in Chief of the journal will decide which papers should be published and will be guided by the policies of the Editorial Board.
Duties of the Publisher
The publisher along with the editors will identify and prevent the publication of papers where research misconduct has occurred. In such cases, the publisher will take appropriate remedial measures such as prompt publication of an erratum, clarification and even retraction of the paper.
